Ana CMP press release (3)_edited.png

Ana CMP is a DJ and producer based in São Paulo, with a musical research driven by vinyl and the creation of sensitive atmospheres on the dancefloor. Her sets move between disco, balearic and house, crossed by reggae influences, always focused on curation and storytelling.

A record collector, she has been standing out in spaces that value attentive listening, such as clubs and listening bars. With a background in audio engineering and experience as a technical producer in some of the city’s leading parties and events, she has developed a sharp ear for sound and dancefloor dynamics.

She has performed at events such as Gop Tun Festival, has releases on Gop Tun Records, and took part in Rádio Manteiga’s vinyl compilation — a project in which she also worked in curation, management, and technical operations.

Ana CMP’s first encounter with electronic music came in the early 2000s, when her brother brought home a VHS tape featuring episodes of the MTV Amp programme, which showcased music videos by acts such as Daft Punk, The Chemical Brothers and The Prodigy. The experience was transformative — a true turning point that broadened her understanding of art, sound and creative possibilities.

Growing up in this environment, she began, at a very young age, frequenting the world of parties organised by her brother himself. It was there, amidst dance floors and sound systems, that she developed a visceral connection with the music and the culture surrounding it. From an early age, she knew this was the place where she felt most alive.

Despite this intuitive certainty, her path was not immediate. Ana even began studying Fine Arts, exploring other avenues within the artistic field. But it was when she abandoned conventional routes and dedicated herself fully to the world of parties that her life began to take shape.

After a spell in Rio de Janeiro, she found the ideal environment to consolidate her career in São Paulo, where she was born. Determined to make a living from music, she studied audio engineering and then sought out the leading company responsible for the sound systems at the city’s electronic music parties. It was there that she began an intense immersion behind the scenes — and never looked back.

Recognised for her dedication and precision, she has established herself in a predominantly male environment. Building on this experience, she expanded her role and began working directly at events as a technical producer.

Having built a solid foundation behind the scenes, it's time for her to fully embrace her artistic expression. Today, Ana CMP works as a DJ and music producer. Throughout her career, she has taken on different roles within the very parties that helped shape her vision. She performed at the latest edition of the Gop Tun Festival, where she was also part of the technical team, and is a regular fixture on the line-ups of clubs and listening bars in São Paulo.

In music production, she creates work that defies obvious formulas. Her most recent releases include the EP *Onegai*, a Balearic disco-reggae track on the Gop Tun Records label, and the track *Jah Vai Libertar*, produced with Capetine for the Rádio Manteiga vinyl compilation — a project conceived in collaboration with other key figures at the radio station, bringing together artists from the current scene.

Ana has also worked at Rádio Manteiga for the past two years, where she has been responsible for music curation, social media management and the station’s technical operations, actively contributing to its programming and development.

She sees her work as a way of transforming the world around her. Music is the medium through which she expresses her feelings and connects with people, seeking to create more human spaces and preserve the fundamental values of club culture — such as love and empathy between strangers on the dance floor, in the exchange of glances when the music creates a connection so real that, for a moment, it feels as though it has always existed.

Perhaps that is exactly what we need most right now: to disconnect in order to reconnect with what really matters.

With focus, she has forged her path by overcoming obstacles and turning a deep-seated desire into reality. Today, she lives by what she has always known to be her purpose: music.
